From a small town in Denmark to founding movement-education businesses in Bali, raising three kids between two worlds, and learning that the unconventional path is the one that makes sense for us.
I grew up in Denmark, but I always knew the traditional path wasn't for me. Instead of settling into a conventional career, I packed my bags and traveled through Southeast Asia and Australia, searching for something that felt right.
I found it in Bali. What started as a stop on the journey became home. I fell in love with the place, the people, and the possibility of building something meaningful here.
Today I am the founder of Rooted Movement, where I hold the vision, program direction, and student experience. Candice is our lead Pilates instructor and brings that teaching expertise to the heart of the program.
I also co-founded The Peaceful Warriors Yoga School. More than ten years across movement education, teacher training, and the everyday work of building have taught me to stay close to the people a program is meant to serve.
We are not more brave. We are not more capable. We are just people who decided to try.
We have three kids, and we homeschool all of them. We split our time between Denmark and Indonesia, and our children are growing up between two very different worlds.
People often ask how we manage running a business, homeschooling, and living as nomads. The honest answer is: it's messy and beautiful, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Our kids are learning by living, and that's the whole point.
